Ideal
A story about a famous actress who is found to be the main suspect in a murder. She takes off with 6 letters who’d been sent to her by her fans. The play goes on to talk about how she decides to visit all 6 of them and what happens. Each person represents one group of people that we’ll meet in life.
There’s the one who pledges loyalty, only to back down like a coward when the time for action comes… The one who believes that all man have to suffer in order to achieve greatness… The one who refuses to face up to reality… Those who believe that all can only seek out greatness by walking the path with God… and then, there’s the one who has given up everything in life and become hopeless.
Erm, all in all, I doubt it’s easy to produce such a play… it’s more suitable as a novel.
Think Twice
Now, this one, is quite exciting! It’s a play as well but it’s very interesting! It’s about a murder… A philantrophist invites a group of people to his new countryhouse for his birthday celebration. Over some fireworks extravaganza, he’s shot in the back. More than one people, in fact, almost everyone at the manor has a good motive for killing him.
There’s his estranged wife, whom he refuses to divorce, even though she’s begged for it.
There’s his son, who is wheelchair ridden… and his son’s tutor who wants to do an operation for him (an operation that could allow him to walk again), except that the philantrophist refuses because…
There’s his lab partner, who is portrayed as mecenary and would murder to gain control of the latest invention…
There’s also a female actress who wants to be released from her contract but whom he refuses to release (even if she paid back in $)…
There’s also a Russian whom they suspect for being a communist spy…
Anyway, in short, it turned out that the murderer had really commited the ‘perfect crime’, not only did he get away scot free, he managed to frame his other enemy for the murder of the philantrophist… and we also find out that the philantrophist is not what he seems to be…
The Simplest Thing in the World
This is an short piece on the various thoughts of a writer who is attempting to write something that his readers would want to read, something that the publishers would want to put in print, yet is against every single fibre of his being. I think it’s an interesting perspective… writing about a writer who’s writing something he does not wish to write. heh.
