Yo guys, after u read tell me what emotions this paragraph creates in ya… I thought it was rather sad but sweet but sad too u know. heh.
The lasts wisps of fog clear to reveal a forum with a huge crowd. They’d heard that some big-shot had flown in last minute and revealed some astonishing news - they were going to have an audition to find some fresh faces for the big screen. That explained the huge crowd that had gathered.
The crowd was a sea of faceless people to her; the only one clear face was that of her friend, someone she’d liked for ages, but never did dare tell. He on the other hand, had his eyes on the stunning brunette, striding through the crowd with such confidence, and a power-suit to boot. Not that he was the only one staring at the new-comer, all eyes in the forum were on her, as she announced the procedures for the audition.
“Ok, we’ll just do a screen test and enlist all the potentials. There’s no need to know how to act, or how to sing, you just need to look good on tv. We’ll start from you…” she finishes off, pointing at him.
He looks around, suddenly conscious of having become the centre of attention. All eyes are on him. He looks at her, his good friend, both shocked, thrilled yet uncertain.
“Go on, she’s looking at you… you can do it!”
And he stands up, walks towards the brunette…
The audition is over in just a few quick seconds. He gets in.
The brunette’s eyes sweep over the girl, taking in her ratty hair, plain face and dumpy clothes, shakes her head with a pitying smile and looks through her, as if she did not exist. The look in her eyes plainly said, “you do not belong.”
Having been ‘enlisted’ as a potential, he walks off into the tent in the distance, a place she could not follow, accompanied by various other beautiful, confident people. He doesn’t turn back to look at her. As she stares at his receding form, she realises how different they are, and how wide a gap there is to bridge, and thinks, perhaps it’s for the best he never knew how she’d felt towards him.
