First time i had it was @ Borders Bistro, costing $11.50 (exclusive of the 16% surcharge) GOSH, it’s so expensive right? and they even tried to ‘cheat’ us of the ingredients, by conveniently leaving out - walnuts, turnip and green apple. hrmph. so if you get that kind of chick un-waldorf salad, pls send it back to the kitchen with this…
excuse moi, i was under the impression that chicken WALDORF (stress on the ‘wal’) salad had walnut, turnip and CHUNKS of green apple as well? This is not the waldorf salad? Can you please send it back and get it changed?
MUAHAHAHAHAHAAA!
Today, for dinner, i decided to make it!
Here’s what you need:
1. boiled/broiled/roasted (wateva) chicken breast cut into thick slices (pls do not shred)
2. lettuce (duh!)
3. walnuts (toasted then break into small pieces with your fingers, don’t crush… or the taste will be gone)
4. green apple (in chunks, pls do not slice, it’s sooooo not shuang when it’s sliced) (remember that after you chunk yr apples, wash in salt water… or you’ll get brown apples)
5. dried raisins
6. celery, sliced (optional)
7. dressing… i suppose you can try light salad cream or mayonnaise, but please dun put too much la k, it’s so fattening!
8. i guess you can use lemon juice if you dun want the dressing. works well too!
ok, here’s the final product!
it’s too bad there was too much exposure! sorrie! still experimenting with the cam!
