tried a chicken waldorf salad today, but instead of using normal boiled chicken, i used a fillet that had been seasoned with paprika, ground pepper (just a bit) and a pinch of salt. it makes the salad ever so much nicer, and decreases the amount of dressing you need to put in. which is good, since i really dun like salad dressings… most taste ODD.

anyway, my salad still doesn’t taste as good as the one from Borders Bistro, i suspect it’s the dressing, i’m using a different dressing! up to now i can’t figure out what it is that my dressing lacks… issit sour cream? garlic? salt? ground pepper? pesto? if anyone’s going to try it at Bistro, help me ask what dressing they put ok? hehe… or maybe i’ll go back there again.

paprika - sweet or hot. yay!!! i love this spice! i’m going to buy back lots of spices like paprika and saffron when i go to spain. ho ho ho…

i so hate sauces - oyster sauce, sweet and sour sauce, soy sauce or fish sauce. ewwwww…

i think spices are healthier and more exciting! hehe… i like cumin, cinnamon, basil, paprika, saffron and sometimes oregano. should go test all the spices one day so can think of which spice goes well with wat stuff. garlic, onion, red/yellow peppers and green bells are always safe.

we made mashed potatoes that day with salt and margarine…

my mum made some improvements to our ‘recipe’ - add some milk, lose the salt (or use pan salt), mix in pepper (not too much) and perhaps chopped coriander or parsley. it’s smoother and tastier! and more appetising when it has specks of green from within.

here’s a really cool sort of birthday present that was given to a friend who has multiple food allergies…

tadaaaaaa….
