darn! my back didn’t improve despite emergency measures last nite…

it’s soooo stiff! it’s like a rigid board! i tried to chk for listing in the mirror just now… erm but it’s not easy to see… haha better not try to twist too much… might add on a sprain! :S gross!

i haven’t had back problems for so many years already! ahhhhhh! GM ward rounds are killing me! and i need a pair of better shoes!

i’m walking like a pregnant woman now - at least 7 months haha…

and can someone tell me:

why does taking allopurinol in the acute attack of gout worsen the gout?
i can’t find any info about it online, they only say that it must not be given within a month of the acute attack and that NSAID and colchicine cover must be given x2-4/52 before allopurinol is started and x4/52 after it’s started.

i also read that a rapid reduction of uric acid levels will precipitate gout, so i suppose this is the reason for not giving allopurinol (which is a xanthin oxidase inhibitor)… but then

why does a rapid reduction of uric acid levels precipitate gout?

help help anyone?
