i so love our computers, internet, software and all those electronic gadgets, cuz they’ve made my life so much more organised, neater and exponentially increased my efficacy. BUT. i cannot stand it when they malfunction, or when they just don’t work. and come up with all sorts of crap ‘error’ messages. this is worsened by the fact that i am just quite information technology incompatible. sigh.

i must make sure i get a guy who’s either very patient or else good with computers hahaha…

alternatively, i’ll send my children to do computing/software design. LOLZ…

ok, enuff crap.

it’s been a bad sunday. starting out with a valiant attempt to print 142 pages of CPG on DM (it’s the 1999 version, dammit! and they’re supposed to be outdated once 5 years have passed… what is prof TAC doing…. when is the new CPG coming out?) my bro’s computer kept dying every 10min or so. it’s really hopeless, u cannot get anything done on that computer. then i had to move his printer over, and reinstall the software over here… and then the horrible printing begins. i’ve got 30+ more pages to go… not a bad accomplishment.

i like reading CPGs, they are so succint. heh. even if they ARE 142 pages long.

i will jump off TTSH 13th floor if the new CPG comes out within this month. my elective mates can help me pry open the windows. haha…

and my back is still hurting, though mildly better. i’m quite restless, can’t sit or stand or lean backwards without releasing the stiffness and constant ache. haiz.

i’ve too many things on my mind these days. i think i’m getting manic again. but it’s not the happy-i-am-powerful-call-me-god type of manic. it’s more of the i-am-so-irritable-and-pms-that-i-bark-at-everyone-and-bite-the-messenger type of manic. sigh.

hahaha our gang was spending quite a lot of time last two weeks looking for good, cheap, safe, central hostels, even better if it’s with breakfast and A/C. haha… we are a damn picky lot! ok, so we’ve settled the bookings for madrid… at metropolhostels… some major kick-ass youth hostel like the YMCA. just hope we’ll be placed in the same room… cuz eh… not too experienced with booking then… we doesn’t matter as long as lilleen and mua are together. i suppose ahleong could fend for himself. oh but he has companionship in the form of our very entertaining multi-lingual mx. heh.

then was the barcelona batch of hostels! ooh, all very expensive, including those rec by friends. erm, i think we have to stay in lower-class hostels than you all. haha… ok… so we settled for some hmmm… where… oh hostal plaza… and rite after booking, this lilleen came running to tell me abt some other cheaper hostel! ARGHHHHHH XIN TONG AH!!! ok, so we just rationalise by saying it’s not good in some way. can’t remember how. so… in order not to feel such chest pain in the future, we went to chk out more granada and sevilla hostels.

turned out we had a gd choice regarding granada anyway, how can u go below 30 sgd for full facilities, privacy and gd location plus A/C and B/F? seriously, it sounds a bit too good to be true… unless the owners drug us and rob us in the middle of the night. hah.

sevilla, however, is a totally different thing. and no wonder they say that spain is totally not like one country. people really do things differently in the south. madrid and barcelona - organised, clear instructions, proper (mostly understandable) english. but in sevilla especially, we’ve got… web pages all over the shop. no centralised booking system, no prices quoted, fax/call-in booking… and their english translations are such a horror i’d gladly take extra time to read in spanish. *shudders*

it did not help that when i opened the guidebook on sevilla, the following phrases jumped out at me…
‘wave of crime swept the city…’
‘muggings are common at night’
‘limit your wanderings of that area to the daytime’…

waaaaa…

ok, tomorrow still got to settle sevilla’s housing.
