i find it irritating when people comment that docs earn sooooo much money a month while other poor people are basically struggling to make ends meet.
they seem to feel that docs don’t deserve to earn that much, or docs are having such an easy life.
these people are just ignorant fools who only see what they can see. they don’t see the blood, sweat, and years of toil just to get that mbbs, and then all the uphill work just to advance in the career.
if anyone of you people think that doctors are making easy money, consider these:
1. which course of study deprives students of almost all their holidays?
2. which course costs sooo much and bonds the student to the gov for FIVE whole years?
3. which kind of students are the most sleep-deprived?
and when we all start work, think of this:
1. which job requires you to be at your work place 7 days a week? come as early as 7am and leave as late as 7pm (without OT pay?)
2. which requires you to go without sleep for up to 36 hours?
3. which job requires you to go for teaching sessions DURING lunch hour?
and with regards to job description, think of this:
1. which job requires you to smell shit/urine/vomit all day?
2. which requires you to stick your finger (thankfully gloved) into someone’s arse?
3. which involves being in some hot, stuffy environment for most of the time?
4. involves a lot of standing (ok, to be fair, pple in the sales line stand a lot too)?
and don’t get me started on the welfare aspects of it all:
1. the sheer lack of sleep
2. people dying on you
3. health hazard: think of all the TB, MRSA, VRE and viruses flying ard.
4. some obnoxious demanding patients
so do u think getting paid more for all these ‘perks’ is unfair?
haha dun ask me why i still want to do medicine k, cuz lolz… i dunno y… i still do enjoy my work immensely. i must be some sort of sucker for pain. hahaha…
