Amongst the billion and one things that a HO’s (house officer) got to do, which includes seeing all new patients, keeping the current ones alive, haggling for blood with the BTS (bld transusion services), trending results, getting casesheets, charts, drawing curtains, shifting beds, sucking blood, satisfying anxious relatives, discharging patients and making sure you’re always more than a step ahead of boss on rounds, they’ve also got the sacred task of getting drinks post-morning rounds…

The surgical team settles down comfortably… HO assumes this glazed appearance…

“teh siew dai, kopi oh kosong, OJ, ice milo, teh ping, kopi bing, teh si bing kosong, kopi siew dai…”

HO still glazed… “Oook…”

Later… at the drinks stall, special queue…

HO: I want… one kopi oh kosong, kopi bing, kopi siew dai, teh ping, teh siew dai, teh si bing kosong?!? er… still got one more ice milo… and orange juice… did I miss something? hmmm… OHHHH one more kopi bing for myself!

Woe begets the HO who orders the wrong drink, especially for the big boss!
