Drum roll… Introducing Daniel Craig as the NEW bond, not just new, but the first blonde bond! This latest bond film is a breath of fresh air from the usual bond flicks. The usual flicks are an explosive combination of handsome suave sexy guy + 1-2 buxom ladies in necklines that plunge to the T7 and lots of cool (but a bit ridiculous) gadgets just as the invisible car. With time, even the best gourmet tires of rich food. This one however, shows 007 at the start of his career. There’s so much more bumbling around, mistakes made and learning how NOT to trust anyone, not even those supposedly covering his back. There’s a little less action than usual, but a lot more ‘tender’ moments between Mr Bond and his gal… that is… Vesper Lynd (Eva Green). He takes a more serious approach towards women, as compared to the future bond, especially the one dramatised by Pierce Brosnan.

Daniel Craig, is in short, a very different sort of bond. He doesn’t have the usual chiselled appearance unlike Brosnan but oh my god, his body is like some Greek God. *hyperventilates*…. *faint* (and no, I am NOT man-hungry)

I love Eva Green’s green frock! Actually I like ALL her clothes! The purple one with sequins on the plunging neckline, and the red hot dress! (Just like my steth!) And earrings too! (which reminds me that I have to buy that pair fr KK)

The corniest scene…
The evidently not-very-experienced Bond drinks out from a glass by some evil-looking blond bitch, who’d put in digitalis… Bond realises he’s been poisoned, rushes to his chic car, calls HQ and says: I’ve been poisoned! Then he receives instructions from those people there teaching him how and where to place the ECG leads and how to cardiovert himself. -_- (and worse, the wires came lose so he couldn’t charge up the equipment despite repeated jabs at the ‘red button’, his futile attempts were really funny…)

One lesson learnt: I need to buy a ‘Poker for dummies’ book or 拜师!!! Cuz for a quarter of the film, I was so slow to catch on regarding who won the game! :S

The pensieve - daily musings 2:15 am

When we were much (emphasise on the MUCH) younger, blogging was one of the ways of being in the ‘IN’ crowd, it was a fashion trend… We blogged about everything in our lives, literally everything, from the brand of cereal we ate to the hunk(s)/babe(s) we dreamt of at night.

It was a fantastic way of keeping communication alive, even in the virtual world…

Now, blogs are the avenue through which we discover startling events… like how a certain friend had a total gastrectomy for gastric cancer, another ex-classmate just went thru a five-hour long op (and I have no idea what it was for!), another is dating a married man, another got cheated by one of those 臭男人, someone got married and had a kid, someone’s parents passed away… and so on… People falling ill with all kinds of chronic diseases and worse, cancers…

It seems like blogs are now the only form of communication for some of us. We just don’t have the time/effort/heart to maintain friendships.

Or more accurately, we just stopped caring.

PS: Health matters. Do treasure it.
