Most people just do three things over there… Eat, shop and gamble. For me it was more like eat, shop and study.

For a nice view of the moutains, (and trust me, it’s really not bad… reminded me of Monserrat sooo much! I MISS SPAIN!) Chk out the cable car ride… Think it’s called Genting skyway, I think? About 15 min ride on Asian’s longest and fastest cable car to this place with this fantastic local produce shop. Hehehe… It’s really fun, cuz you get to try all kinds of preserved fruits and chips there… I stayed clear of the cuttle fish section though. Pui pui pui…

There’s another cable car ride, that’s called the Awana skyway, it only runs at night. Heard that you’ll be able to see the lights from KL. Erm, though I wonder how it’s possible cuz it’s just so foggy there at night! Anyway, it was unfortunately down for maintenance during my short stint there. Sigh…

local produce shop

Hehehe… such a nice place… haha I tried really fun stuff like preserved kiwi, lemon and pineapple! hahaha… But it’s really not stuff that I like usually…

Next door, they had this shop selling those small round thingies with the yellowish bean paste inside… you can get it in Tiong Bahru too, BUT it’s a different brand there and it’s freshly made and it’s soooo nice! yum yum :D I like the white coffee they have too :) They also sell erm fish skin chips? Dunno what it is, but everyone went crazy over it except me. I think I can smell the fishiness from afar. EUW. They’ve got loads of other local produce, such as coconut biscuits (those round ones, that my mum reminisced over), koropok (they have the orangey and purple ones, fr potatoes…)

Food
There’s just so much to eat there that looking around would probably trigger indigestion. Here’s what they’ve got there…
Macs, KFC, Pizza Hut, Marry(Merry) Brown (burgers and chicken), Market Square (all kinds of stuff), a food court, Kenny Rogers, Star bucks (many branches), Sushi King, various local foods stalls (like your unhealthy, oil-filled fried foods and curry…), Ah Yat Abalone Forum restaurant (that I shall launch a major complaint about later on), Good Friends restaurant, one middle eastern/northern indian restaurant, an Italian one, and two other restaurants in the casino itself. Each hotel also has it’s cafe/restaurants where you’ve mainly got buffet meals… Quite ex actually… Imagine, one bowl of Mee Pok can cost 7 SGD! Yup… super ex!

Shopping
Some of the shops there are Padini (a bit like our Forever 21 or the Closet by BYSI here), Giordano, U2, Diesel, BUM equipment, Voix (shoes, clothes, accessories), Girls (a really pink pink PINK shop that crispy loves!!! hahahah…), another similar shop called Watever, FOS (factory outlet store), Carlo Rino, Hush Puppies, Viss (shoes), Soda… Anyway, things mostly aren’t cheap there… It’s about the same as shops in Orchard here.

Anyway, here’s what I bought: THREE pairs of earrings! YAY (earring whore rules!), and one pair of really really nice clogs (slip on heels actually) from Viss. The earrings really worth the price haha…

Here’s the funny part, one of my friends’ first stops there was…. the pharmacy! haha… I think had to replenish his stock of meds… -_- I wanted to go get some H2blockers and cetirizine too but the pharmacist couldn’t be found both times I went. Haiz, nevermind then…
