Finally back from 3 d 2 n of something like a wilderness endurance trip… Not that I’m complaining… the rice terraces at Banaue were breath-taking! (pics to come on my travel blog soon)
We had a couple of close shaves…. first, we almost ran over a dog (it was stupidly snoozing in the middle of the road!), then we almost ran over a kid (very cute mountain kids they have but darting all over the place it’s so hard to keep track of them). and then, just today, during the return trip,
a wheel went off this lorry in front of us and rolled across the road… there were sparks and all that, and next thing we knew, the lorry had turned on it’s side, and was skidding towards us! there was wet flopping fish all over the road! Boy was it cool! Loy gave thanks to God and crossed himself. My mum, asked whether anyone could take the fish, then she asked, what fish those were… -_-
Things that I’ve done in the past 3 d that normally u wouldn’t be doing:
1. share my bed with sooo many moths! EEEKS!
2. travelled 824km by car (totally up to 30 h of travelling time)
3. travelling at 10-20km/h on unpaved rocky road, till the butts (and head) hurt
4. wake up before sunrise… at about 4am to start driving off to the next destination
5. driving thru fog along winding paths without the fog light. damn freaky.
Oh and I saw mirages! hehe…
