First, organising an event, any event is less than anything but hazardous in our department, mainly cuz we all work at staggered hours. Despite our best intentions ie. must schedule an outing that dear K could finally attend… She couldn’t, cuz she broke out in spots. Varicella. Poor thing!
Anyway, according to boss who’s must have done some research, we were to have DIM SUM at Cherry Garden! Mandarin Oriental… damn posh looking place! It was a rather good turn out with close to 20 MOs and like 4 seniors. (The latter’s very important since us poor people’s credit cards would be burnt in that place.) It’ s like one of the first times we people would NOT be dressed in blue and literally ‘let our hair down’.
The bosses looked a bit uncomfortable haha… like a sneaking suspicion we were at the wrong place… There was some discussion about budget though… Apparently it wasn’t specified :D heehee… Like what SM said or was it LP, at most we come back another 6months!

I really liked the interior of that hotel… Nice photo too!
The interesting part was actually the act of getting to the hotel… People kept thinking it was Marina Mandarin and our dear A. Li thought it was PEACH BLOSSOM instead of Cherry Garden. Sigh… And I think he got lost leading a group of people too…

Lunch was a finicky sort of affair with the teeniest bits laid out in beautiful cutlery. Dear Sh. S was especially intrigued by the red stone chopsticks holder thingy…
There was an appetiser of fruits stuff… Date soup, Peking duck, dim sum mixture, some stir fried chicken that J. was fairly convinced was frog leg cuz it was so springy, egg tofu and noodles… (I think we bust the budget big time!)

The cutest dish! A dessert of almond icecream covered with some pandan-avocado erm soup/paste/wat-do-u-call-that, with this dry ice underneath and all that fantastic bubbling and spewing of fumes! haha.. Ok my description does not do justice to that wonderful dessert but it’s better than likening it to APO (courtesy of T. SY)
Lunch was a fairly riotus affair and it was I suppose quite a good end to our posting :)
